How LiftWise Began

Built From Decades Of Training, Injuries, Recovery, And Learning How To Adapt

I turned 53 this year, but my training started much earlier. At 12, I began martial arts. By my teens, I was lifting weights in my parents’ basement while continuing karate.

Over time, that evolved into boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, mixed martial arts, and serious weight training. Training became part of who I was.

But years of hard training also came with injuries: a dislocated right elbow, shoulder damage, knee issues, scar tissue, mobility limits, and eventually rotator cuff surgery.

Protein Powder

Creatine

Commonly used to support strength, power output, and repeated high-effort training performance.

Caffeine

Can support focus and training energy, but should be used carefully if sleep, anxiety, or heart concerns exist.

Electrolytes

Helpful for hydration support, especially during heavy sweating, longer sessions, or low-carb phases.

Omega-3

Often used for general health support, especially when fatty fish intake is low.

Vitamin D

Relevant for people with low sun exposure or confirmed low levels. Testing and professional guidance matter.

Supplement information is educational and not medical advice. Anyone with medical conditions, medications, or heart concerns should speak with a healthcare professional.

LiftWise Framework

The L4 Principles

LiftWise is built around four principles that help adults train hard while protecting joints, recovery, and long-term performance.

L1

Load

Choose the right amount of resistance, volume, and intensity for your body today, not your ego.

L2

Leverage

Respect joint angles, limb length, range of motion, and movement mechanics so exercises fit your body.

L3

Longevity

Train in a way that builds strength now while preserving your ability to keep training for years.

L4

Lifestyle

Factor in sleep, recovery, nutrition, stress, time, and consistency because training does not happen in isolation.
